Our Alpine-inspired, shaped and fitted sweater/jacket can be worn either as outdoor season changeover or "We're saving on our heating bill" as indoor attire. Or don it under a roomy winter coat for added warmth.

Because the brown fiber has a stiff quality, it was intentionally knitted tightly in a quilt-type stitch, and was deliberately designed for outer wear, as opposed to a body-clinging garment. Best of all, the collar is a built-in scarf, worked in combination alpaca and chenille yarns. It's nice and long to wrap around the throat and back of neck, and it's stitched in a marvelous, open-knit herringbone lace.

The main body is worked in brown with interesting glints of what appears to be snow-capped highlights. We believe this is Olefin acrylic, although we can't be sure since it was worked from an unidentified mill cone. The brown and white front and back center panels are chenille. To this interesting mix, we've incorporated Amy's signature braid in a nubby beige yarn as trim down the front, body and sleeve hem as well as on the tiny pockets (can hold one key or chapstick). Heart-shaped, brass-toned clasps add a charming Tyrolean or Pennsylvania Dutch finish.

Summer breeze/summer ease. Casual top and shawl set delivers soft, neutral, easy-to-match, beige and white chenille with a plush feel that resembles the sensation of comfy, thick, squishy terry cloth. Deep-Veed in front and squared off in the back, this top has Amy's designer touch signature braid along the front neckline and at about waist level. An open-work hem section just precedes deep, sitting-on-the-hip twist fringes. This item was hand knit.

The matching shawl was created on a handheld loom and is, therefore, double layer thick and rich. It's generously proportioned and a perfect cover up for walking along a breezy beach, day or evening wrap or for over-active air-conditioned rooms. Abundant, long fringes.

Classic styling with an edge. We've taken two conventional shapes, added one design element to another...and yet another...to create an extraordinary, but not extreme, art-to-wear set. This blazer and top ensemble are exciting, yet not over-the-top so they remain versatile and functional.
The Top: Deep & dusty tones of grape, flecked with glints of sparkling metallic silver in a U-neck, sleeveless pullover.
